Good Evening to you all again….still a raining bug evening…but I will have to get on with it and bring you this blog as I did not last night! We had a great evening and I thank Annette, Angie and Marty and fam coming around to share it with me! As my food is packed in packs of 500g I had to really think about what I was going to cook…in the end I made the sticky barbecued lamb ribs (although I burned them a bit), pork , chicken and beef sosaties (kebabs) with a veggie parcel and parmesan, garlic and herb potatoes! Really enjoyed the com[pany, the food and the chatting! Marty told us about an African Wild Cat they had seen with kittens and we all decided to leave at 4:30 and he would show us where they had seen it an hopefully we could also find it!

Thank you all for the appreciation showed on the pics of the leopard…and also the anniversary messages…I truly appreciate it and yes, my husband as well! Engel, know you had a long flying day…but at least we were together in our minds….see you soon….82 days I think! Ced and Veronica I asked Gordon about Ngotso Dam and was told that the streams feeding it have not had much rain…strange to think that some dams up the road are full, b ut not this one..Inyati I have not taken a pic of “Larry” with a beer yet….everytime I give him one he spills it! Will try again tomorrow! Dawn Satara and Orpen webcams are very close to camp and you can see both from the tar roads…I did take a pic of the Satar one from the road, but just have so many piics to show that it will have to wait! Ilovekruger…the ablutions at 90% of the camps I have been to have been absolutely spotless….yes, I do miss my own bathroom with the privacy etc…bu Im here for the year and that is what I have to use…not long to go and I will have my own again! Sanet, there is no recipe for the chicken in the box…but this is what I do….line a carton box with tinfoil….then take a chicken (whole) and stick a can of beer (opened and a big sip taken out of it) into the bottom of the chicken..I coat my chicken with salt, pepper and paprika..place on the fire, cover with the box…and 1hour or so later…enjoy! Marty, great neighbours you are…really a treat meeting your whole fam! If only ppl would read those 4 points you mentioned and take note…lot of the idiots in Kruger would dissapear! All comments done and I can get on with the blog! Yesterday was a real slow day…but then I did not drive far….as I told you about the leopard that caught the Impala and cars drove up to it I wantd to see, also told she had a cub….so that is where I went and so did Annette.we waited for about 2hrs but only got a glimpse of the mother….Annette did see the cub, but I did not….then it was time for a quick breakfast at Nwanetsi …….and back to camp to come and clean up and also start the food for last night…..As said I burned the lamb ribs a bit, but I think the eve was good…and at least the bugs stayed awayfor a change…..
Up at 4:oo and ready to leave by 4:30….naturally we took the road to the leopard with cub and the kill in the tree…it was also on the way to the AWC…we again waited for more thant an hour and only got a glimpse of them….some got to take pics , but I didnt …really not a clear sighting for me….then we left…got to the spot where Marty and fam saw the AWC….but not there today….I drove passed Girivana dam and took some pics…really so full of water, cant believe in August it was bone dry! Will once again bring you pics tom night! Then back to Nsemani dam and back to the leopard….wow again….she was in the tree eating…and this is wher I met kitwebun…..and I have a special message to Charles Roth in Australia….Kruger greetings from Dalen and Alan! Hope you enjoy the blog and seeing this pic.maybe the same as they saw! I waited and the mother ate with a frenzy and many pieces fell to the ground…maybe she was trying to get some of it to the cub….not sure! Then she climbed down…I got many pics, but think that this one she was looking at me and its just so great to see anothe rleopard again!
Unfortunately I did not see the cub…that is something I still have to see..and maybe in the next few weeks in the area I will see that as well! Then onto the S36 and the Sweni oad…someone asked to see what happened with the bones of the Giraffe Kill I saw in August…but before I got there…..Wilddogs….all over…but all in the bush! I was there for almsot 2hrs all by myslef and could reverse, go forward…reverse..and take it all in….then this one run off into the road to have a scratch……at last a clear pic to show you.!
and not long after anothe one runnign across the road…..it was really difficult to count them…I think I could see 16, but told Wes and Liz about them…and glad they found them…..in the road..they counted about 30!
I was just so happy to see these few int he clearing..really difficult to bring you pics of something in the grass….this one lay down in the bush.and not long afer got up and came towards me……must tell you…..with the wind blowing towards you, they really stink! Much more than Hyenas!
and then he was so close I could only fit his face into my lens….really awesome to see them so close by…and in the open…
Although they were still there it was time for me to return to camp….still had to clean up after last night….on the way I stopped many cars to tell them about the dogs….and then one man told me that they had just seen lioons not far off the road towarsd Nwatentsi…so that is where I went….really tired after an early morning, but many of you would like to see lions , so I went there…..the firs big male lying in the shade of a tree ….
and a llittle futher up…another 2 younger males….
With that I returned to camp, once again feeling great to have seen such great sightings….also at the lions I met another YR, wilddreamer and so…hope you found the wilddogs…..then back to camp to clean up and have a snooze…Tiggercat I got your note and really sorry I missed you!
Afternoon drive…I did not really wanted to go….my mouth was very sore and I also arranged to meet Annette and Angie for a meal at the restaurant…lukily VVSG and SO is coming tomorrow and M is bringing me some medcs from the pharmacy……not sure what is wrong..but not nice not to be able to eat…I really enjoy my food…especially meat! I went back to the leopard kill and was hoping to get you a better pic…..but the kill was gone! And no mother or cub in sight! Then back to the lions…still lying down, but further from the road than this am….so I left…took a quick drive up the road pass the gate and got this baby blue wildebeest close to the road…really nice to see hem so close……
Then at camp…a quick stop at the shop for milk etc…and Annette have invited me to the restaurant tonight….really could not eat a big meal…so I had onion soup and a lasagne……at least I ate! then back here and this s where I am now…bringing you alll a blog again with different things…now its time to get to bed….wonder what I wil see tomorrow….
