South African National Parks would like to announce that the FREE access to all national parks is only available from 18 – 22 September, and does not include the upcoming long weekend of September 23-25.
Due to the long weekend and school holidays in various areas, the organization felt that this would be a huge compromise on infrastructure and resources.
“We really would like to have the public free at all our parks, however we realize that opening the parks to envisaged large visitor groups over the long weekend would bring stress to wildlife as well as potential damage to plant life’ said Mabunda, Chief Executive of SANParks.
