Date: 21st February 2006
The Crocodile Bridge Entrance Gate to the Kruger National Park (KNP) was opened again for traffic today (Monday February 20, 2006).
The Crocodile Bridge Entrance Gate to the Kruger National Park (KNP) was opened again for traffic today (Monday February 20, 2006).
It was closed for the second time this year on Friday February 10, 2006 because the level of the Crocodile River had risen, making the bridge too hazardous to cross.
After the water level dropped, KNP officials cleared the crossing of all obstacles and opened the gate for traffic this morning.
“We apologise to our valued guests for any inconvenience,” said KNP HOD Public Relations Mr William Mabasa, “but we took the decision to close the gate for the safety of our guests.”
Crocodile Bridge Entrance Gate and Camp is situated 11 kilometres north of Komatipoort near the Mozambican border. It is one of 10 entrance gates into the Kruger National Park.
